Who Am I?
I am an enthusiastic and idealistic person. I like to "take time to smell the roses." I love investing my time with people, which is part of the reason I'm so passionate about my field, speech pathology. Ironically, I also love spending time alone...rollarblading, drinking in the beauty of nature, reading, and taking "adventures" (whether that means back-packing through Europe by myself, or merely finding a new shortcut across town). I recently graduated with my master’s degree in Speech Pathology. I love my new job, working as a clinical fellow at the University of Michigan’s Center for Language and Literacy. I mostly work with clients with aphasia (a disturbance of language expression or comprehension, usually as a result of brain damage). Some other jobs that I've enjoyed include: tutoring autistic children, working with multiply handicapped children in our school district, and teaching Spanish. I have a love affair with Latin American and Spanish culture and have studied abroad in Mexico and in Spain. I think that if I hadn't met Donnell, I would have decided to become a missionary or anthropologist in a Spanish speaking country. Fortunately, God had other plans for me and introduced Donnell into my
life. We just got married August 10, 2003 (you can check out our pictures
in our photo album). Being loved by him, has reshaped my life. I am humbled
and amazed by such a gift! (Truly
God is a loving and merciful Father) I am inspired by Donnell's vision
for the future, and admire his servant leadership. I am looking forward
to the next sixty or seventy years together pursuing our common goal that
is so eloquently stated in Psalm 27:4-"One thing I ask of the Lord,
this is what I seek, that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the
days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord, and to seek Him
in His temple." |
